This journey shows two very different faces of Normandy in a single day.
We leave Paris early to reach Mont-Saint-Michel at the right moment, when the island still feels distant from the modern world. Walking through the narrow streets and up to the abbey, you learn how tides, pilgrims, and isolation shaped life here for centuries — and why such an improbable place became one of the most important sanctuaries in medieval Europe.
In the afternoon, we continue to Honfleur, a harbor town that inspired generations of painters. We walk around the old port with its tall, narrow houses, visit the wooden Sainte-Catherine Church built by shipbuilders, and explore the small streets where sailors, merchants, and artists once lived side by side. Here you discover how a working fishing port slowly turned into one of the birthplaces of Impressionism. The day moves from stone to reflection: from a vertical medieval world rising from the sea to a coastal town shaped by trade, light, and everyday life.
